The lense arrived in good time. My disappointment is there was no lense cover to use when not on the camera. And also when I tried to register for the 5 year warranty the serial number was not on their database. They say they will get back to me.

I needed a telephoto lens for a pending holiday in the Highlands of Scotland, my camera is a Canon 7D. I had already bought a 2 times converter as I could not afford a dedicated Canon tele lens but wasn’t satisfied with the quality or resolution. After much deliberation between the Sigma and Tamron I opted for the Tamron 150-600 and I have not regretted my decision. Expensive yes but not nearly as expensive as the Canon and I am more than happy with the quality. I lose a little towards the 600 end but a little is an apt description, not enough to bother me. The lens is rather heavy so a sturdy tripod would be advisable unless you have a very steady and firm grip. I am in my 80’s so a tripod is essential. Overall a very good investment.

This lens is absolutely great and worth the money. Image stabilization is working very good what means you’ll get sharp shots without a tripod at low shutter speeds. I’ts not too heavy to carry it around with the camera included, I’ve tried it for some hours and had no problems but I’ve purchased a shoulder strap to have my hands free. Please be aware you will need a seperate Quick Release Plate because it’s not included!
