The major superiority of Canon over any other brands is that you can own these kind of lenses. Canon 24-70 L f2.8 ii PROS 1. Sharpness in every focal length and at any focal length 2. Beautiful contrast 3. Great colors 4. Fast AF 5. Great control of flares 6. Lighter than it could be for this focal length 7. Build like a tank CONS 1. It’s quite silent when focusing but I expected totally silent focus motor (e.g. My Canon ef-s 18-135 3.5/5.6 STM is totally silent when focusing) P.S. It is very important to use cameras MICROADJUSTMENT so you can get the most out from the lens.

The sharpness and clarity is excellent. It’s my workhorse wedding camera. This Mark II is definitely better than the mark i and the Mark i was already good.

Lens was good and had no real issues getting to grips witb it but disaster struck! Had taken lens on holiday and as stated no issues but then worst nightmare happened when on a beach! The lens was fine and then just seemed to fall off from the main body…always check that its im secure and had been using it and even holding the lens part too. No idea what went wrong but have to assume design flaw with this particular lens as all years i have had other lens this has never happened so this is why a lower review. For the price these lens go for I could not believe this happened.

Clearly one of the best lenses available out there, and I’m surely not going to be the one who gives a negative review to such a great piece of equipment. If this focal length is the right one for you, then look no further and don’t be afraid of buying it because it never fails to impress. Well done, Canon!
