Have only had this for a day but it’s excellent. We’ve had a Miele, two Dysons and some other cheaper brands over the years and this has several stand out design features:1 – The Brush head can be accessed and extracted from the top. This allows trapped hair removal to be done easily.2 – Lights at front of body at ground level. Really helps when cleaning under items.3 – East to clean filters – sponge and metal grill are all easy to get at.4 – Detachable body for doing stairs. It’s still got some weight (you are carrying the motor) but you are freed from the wheeled foot.5 – The hose detaches from the longer metal tube into a much more maneuverable suction head by design. Much more effective for cleaning mid level items (like tables or stair case treads) as you aren’t trying to wield a long pole.6 – Very powerful suction. Scary how much dirt this was able to extract in our test run (after using the vacuum it’s replacing, the Miele – to be fair that vacuum doesn’t have the important beater function and is a much cheaper model). One room got almost a full container of dust and dirt that the other vacuum couldn’t reach.7 – Not too noisy, light enough weight, looks great but most importantly does a first rate cleaning job.Cannot obviously report on it’s long term performance. Bought at ‘sale’ price ~£170. This one didn’t have the small pet attachment so that may be an additional purchase later on.

i have always liked Dyson hoovers since 1999 i never had any trouble with it until now i couldn’t get the part for it. so i bought the shark hoover a couple of days ago after my friend told me how good she liked it (she was a Dyson fan like me)first time i used it my living room carpet feels like new all the pile was soft sounds daft i know .
We have only owned the machine for a week so I cannot say if it is reliable but it does have a long guarantee. It is very easy to use, quiet and exceptionally powerful. So powerful in fact that it got stuck to the carpet until my wife adjusted it correctly. It looks flimsy but is in fact robust. It is also light enough for us two pensioners to use. It removes so much more dirt than the previous cleaner and leaves the carpets looking clean. An excellent product and being mains powered we are not setting ourselfs up for future expensive lithium battery replacements..
